Vidalia Onion Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Cut onions into 3/4-inch slices.
  3. In a 12-inch skillet, cook onions in butter or margarine until tender. Sprinkle with salt, sugar and pepper.
  4. Add vermouth and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Cook 3 minutes.
  6. Transfer onion mixture to a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle with cheese.
  8. Combine bread crumbs, paprika and melted butter.
  9. Sprinkle over cheese. Bake for 20 minutes.
  10. Serves 6.
