Hamburger Pot Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 400u0b0 (for metal pie plate, 425u0b0).
  2. Sift flour before measuring; cut Crisco into flour with pastry blender or two knives until mixture is uniform.
  3. Mix onion salt and water; sprinkle on water a tablespoon at a time; toss lightly with a fork.
  4. Work dough into a firm ball with your hands.
  5. Divide dough in half and form two flat circles.
  6. On a lightly floured surface, roll out bottom crust until 1 1/2 inches larger than inverted 9-inch pie plate.
  7. Fold circle in half; lift dough into pie plate. Trim even with edge.
  8. Roll out top crust the same way.
  9. Add pie filling (recipe follows)
  10. and cover with top crust; trim 1/2-inch beyond edge.
  11. Fold top crust edge under edge of bottom crust; seal and flute with fingers or fork.
  12. Cut slits in top crust.
  13. Bake at 400u0b0 for 25 minutes.
