Fourth Of July Cake

  1. Heat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Butter a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  3. Combine 2 cups flour, the baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  4. Toss berries with 1 tablespoon flour.
  5. Beat 10 tablespoons of butter, the granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla about 5 minutes.
  6. Beat in flour in thirds, alternating with milk, using 1 cup.
  7. Beat whites until stiff and fold into batter.
  8. Fold in berries.
  9. Pour into pan.
  10. Bake until done, about 30 minutes.
  11. Beat 4 tablespoons of butter, the cream cheese and a pinch of salt.
  12. Beat in confectioners sugar, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and 2 tablespoons of milk.
