Dark Fruit Cake
- 1/2 lb. currants
- 1/2 lb. dates
- 1/2 lb. white raisins
- 1/2 lb. candied cherries
- 1/2 lb. candied pineapple
- 1/2 lb. citron
- 1/4 lb. figs
- 1/2 lb. pecans or walnuts
- 1 oz. chocolate square
- 1/4 c. grape juice
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 c. honey
- Cut fruits and nuts
- into small pieces; sift dry ingredients over fruit mixturetnd
- mix
- well.
- Creamtuttertnd sugar thoroughly; add
- beaten
- eggs and melted chocolate.
- Mix well. Stir in fruits
- and nuts mixture alternately with honey and grape juice.
- Line a
- 10-inch tube pan with foil.
- Place a shallow pan of water in bottomtf
- oven.
- Bake
- at 300u0b0 for 3 hours.
- Remove pan of water; bake for 30 minutes longer.
