Southwestern Glop
- 3 c. rice, cooked
- 2 lb. hamburger
- 1 (16 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
- 2 bell peppers, cut in 1-inch squares
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1.5 to 2 lb. block Monterey Jack cheese
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- red pepper (optional) to taste
- In a large skillet, cook hamburger and drain fat.
- Add crushed tomatoes.
- Add all other ingredients except cheese and bell pepper.
- Cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
- In a large baking dish, place bell pepper squares in dish to cover bottom.
- Add meat mixture and spread out evenly.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven.
- Grate cheese.
- Add to the top; spread evenly.
- Put back in oven for 5 minutes.
- Remove and let stand 10 minutes. Serve.
