- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 c. milk
- 3 eggs, separated
- 6 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 1 pinch cream of tartar (optional)

- maple syrup for topping
- Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into a medium bowl.
- Make a well in center of mixture.
- In another bowl, combine milk, egg yolks and melted butter.
- Pour into well in flour mixture.
- Stir until smooth and creamy.
- This can also be done in a blender or food processor, but don't overwork or batter will be tough.
