Party Surprise Loaf
- 5 1/2 c. enriched, all-purpose flour
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. tub margarine
- 1 1/2 c. hot water (120~ to 130~)
- egg substitute equivalent to 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. dry oatmeal
- 12 dried apricot halves
- 12 pitted prunes
- 16 walnut halves
- 1/3 c. tub margarine, melted
- 3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- Combine 2 cups flour, yeast,
- sugar and salt in a large bowl. Add margarine and water and mix well with electric mixer.
- Add egg substitute and 1 cup flour, beating 1 minute on high speed.
- Stir in oatmeal and enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough. Turn onto lightly floured board and knead 8 to 10 minutes.
- Cover with towel and let rest 20 minutes.
