Coffee Toffee Balls

  1. Combine
  2. granulated
  3. sugar and packed brown sugar, corn syrup, light
  4. cream,
  5. butter, milk, coffee and salt in a large heavy saucepan.
  6. Cook
  7. over
  8. moderate
  9. heat,
  10. stirring often, until sugars
  11. dissolve
  12. and butter melts.
  13. Lower heat.
  14. Cook, stirring occasionally,
  15. until
  16. candy
  17. reaches 240u0b0 on a candy thermometer. Continue cooking, stirring constantly so mixture doesn't burn, until candy reaches 246u0b0 (a bit dropped in cold water will
  18. form a firm ball).
  19. Remove from heat immediately; let stand 2 minutes. Stir in vanilla.
