Strata Di Pizza
- 4 eggs
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 tsp. each: oregano and basil
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 8 slices white bread, divided
- 1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese, divided (4 oz.)
- 2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
- In medium bowl with fork or whisk, beat eggs just until blended.
- Beat in tomato sauce, water, oregano, basil, salt and garlic powder; set aside.
- In greased 8 or 9-inch square baking dish, arrange 4 slices of bread.
- Evenly pour on half the tomato mixture.
- Sprinkle with half the Mozzarella.
- Repeat layers; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Cover; let stand at least 1 hour or refrigerate overnight.
- Bake in preheated oven at 350u0b0 for 45 to 55 minutes, until puffed and browned.
- Serve immediately.
- Makes 4 servings.
