Chocolate-Strawberry Cake

  1. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, soda and salt; set aside.
  2. In a larger mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Blend in melted chocolate and eggs.
  4. Beat mixture thoroughly.
  5. Stir in flour mixture alternately with milk. Beat thoroughly after each addition.
  6. Add jam and mix well.
  7. Fold in sliced berries.
  8. Pour batter into 3 greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.
  9. Bake in a 350u0b0 oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
  10. Frost with chocolate icing and top with fresh, whole strawberries, rolled in confectioners sugar.
