Chocolate Filled Bonbons

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Cream Crisco and sugars with electric mixer until fluffy.
  3. Add egg and extract and beat well.
  4. Add flour, baking powder, salt and nuts (optional).
  5. Mix until blended.
  6. Shape into 1-inch balls.
  7. Press each ball around a kiss (like chocolate covered cherry).
  8. Bake 12 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet. (Do not overbake.)
  9. Cool on wire racks.
  10. Frost or decorate as desired.
  11. Yields 3 1/2 to 4 dozen cookies.
