Crunchy Snack Mix

• 3 c. Cocoa Puff cereal
• 3 c. rice cereal squares
• 1 1/2 c. small twisted pretzels
• 1 c. peanuts
• 1 c. packed brown sugar
• 1/2 c. margarine or butter
• 1/4 c. light corn syrup
• 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
• 1/4 tsp. baking soda
• 1/2 tsp. vanilla

1. Combine cereals, pretzels and nuts in a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
2. Cook and stir together brown sugar, butter and syrup over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil.
3. Let boil without stirring for 4 minutes.
4. Remove from heat.
5. Stir in cream of tartar and baking soda.
6. Add vanilla and pour over cereal mixture. Stir gently to coat.
7. Bake in 300u0b0 oven for 30 minutes.
8. Stir after first 15 minutes.
9. Spread on foil to cool.
10. Keep in a tightly covered container.
11. Makes 8 cups.
