Lasagna Deluxe
- 12 oz. ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 (8 oz.) can Spanish-style tomato sauce
- 3/4 c. hot water
- 1 (4 oz.) can mushroom stems and pieces
- 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 3/4 tsp. oregano
- 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 6 uncooked lasagna noodles
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 lb. cottage cheese
- 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
- 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
- Crumble ground beef into large skillet.
- Cook over medium heat until lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
- Drain.
- Add garlic and onion.
- Saute until onion is tender; drain.
- Stir in tomato paste, tomato sauce, water, undrained mushrooms, parsley flakes, basil, oregano, red pepper and salt.
- Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Cook noodles using package directions; drain.
- Mix egg with cottage cheese in bowl.
- Spread 1/4 of the meat sauce in 7 x 12-inch baking dish.
