Meat Stuffed Green Peppers
- 1 lb. bulk pork sausage
- 1 lb. ground round
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 firm tomatoes, chopped
- 12 oz. Mozzarella cheese, grated
- 6 oz. drained sliced mushrooms
- 6 large green peppers (square bottoms)
- Brown sausage and ground round in a large pan with the onions, too.
- Drain.
- Cool.
- Return to pan.
- Cut tops out of green peppers.
- Parboil 5 minutes.
- Drain and cool.
- Add tomatoes to meat and all but 1/4 cup grated cheese.
- Mix together meats, cheese and tomatoes.
- Stuff each pepper full of mixture (press down).
- Add cheese to top.
- Place each finished pepper in glass pan.
- Add a little water (1/2-inch) to pan.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 15 to 18 minutes.
