Grandma'S Best Cookies
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. rolled oats
- 2 c. corn flakes or Rice Krispies or one of each
- 2 c. coconut
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- Cream sugars and shortening.
- Add eggs and mix.
- Add milk and vanilla.
- Mix baking soda and salt with flour; add to creamed mixture.
- Add the coconut.
- Add oatmeal and corn flakes.
- If desired, add 1/2 cup raisins and 1/2 cup chopped nuts.
- Mixture will be thick.
- Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet.
- Flatten slightly with back of wet spoon.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 350u0b0.
- Makes about 50 cookies.
