Gingersnaps

  1. Cream sugar and shortening.
  2. Add eggs and beat well.
  3. Add cherry juice and vanilla.
  4. Stir together flour, salt and soda.
  5. Add to creamed mixture.
  6. Stir in coconut, nuts, dates and cherries. Drop by teaspoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake at 300u0b0 for 15 minutes.
  8. Makes 6 to 7 dozen.
