Fruit Cake Cookies
- 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 4 oz. candied cherries
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. sweet milk
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 4 oz. candied pineapple
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 3 c. chopped pecans
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 4 Tbsp. fruit juice
- 1 box (8 oz.) pitted dates, chopped
- Cream
- together the sugar and butter.
- Add beaten eggs. Dredge all
- fruit
- in part of the flour, about 1/2 cup.
- Sift together remaining
- flour,
- soda
- and spices.
- Add to creamed mixture.
- Add sweet
- milk
- and
- juice
- (juice from maraschino cherries is especially good).
- However, additional milk may be substituted. Next,
- add
- dredged
- fruit
- and pecans.
- Drop by teaspoon
- on greased cookie sheet and bake in 300u0b0 oven for 20 minutes.
- Makes about 7 dozen cookies.
