Chocolate Chunk Cookies
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chunks
- 1/2 c. nuts, chopped (optional)
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- In small bowl, combine flour, soda and salt.
- Set aside.
- In large bowl, combine butter, shortening, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla.
- Beat until creamy.
- Beat in egg. Gradually add flour mixture and mix well.
- Stir in chocolate chunks and nuts with wooden spoon and mix well.
- Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 8-10 minutes.
- Cool on cookie sheet for 2 minutes.
- Remove to rack and cool completely.
- Makes approximately 36-48 cookies.
