Beef Stroganoff
- 1 to 1 1/2 lb. top round steak, cut in strips or 1/4-inch cubes
- 2 Tbsp. bacon or other fat
- flour
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 tsp. garlic, minced
- 1 (6 oz.) can sliced mushrooms or preferably fresh ones
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 6 drops Tabasco
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 pkg. spaghetti or egg noodles (2 pkg. if serving 8 with 1 1/2 lb. meat)
- Parmesan cheese
- 1 c. sour cream
- Brown flour-coated meat in fat; add onion, garlic and drained mushrooms.
- Combine seasonings in mushroom liquid (or water if using fresh ones).
- Add soup.
- Simmer at least 1 hour.
- Add sour cream and heat just before serving.
- Serves 6 to 8.
