Cauliflower-Ham Bake
- 1 medium head cauliflower
- 2 c. cubed cooked ham
- 1 (3 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. milk
- 4 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated (1 c.)
- 1/2 c. dairy sour cream
- 1 c. soft bread crumbs
- 1 Tbsp. butter, melted
- Break cauliflower into pieces (about 4 cups); cook in salted water until tender and drain.
- Combine with ham and mushrooms.
- In medium saucepan, melt 1/4 cup butter.
- Stir in flour.
- Add milk all at once and stir constantly until mixture thickens and bubbles.
- Add cheese and sour cream to sauce; stir until cheese is melted.
- Combine with vegetables and ham.
- Turn into a 2-quart casserole.
- Combine crumbs and 1 tablespoon butter; sprinkle on top.
- Bake, uncovered, at 350u0b0 for 40 minutes or until hot.
- Makes 6 servings.
