Rainbow Cake
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 c. butter or Crisco
- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. almond flavoring
- pink, green and yellow food coloring
- Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
- Cream together butter or Crisco and sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add dry ingredients to mixture, alternating with milk and flavorings until all are well mixed together.
- Divide the batter into 3 equal portions.
- Tint each portion of batter with yellow, green and pink coloring.
- Pour pink batter into 10 x 4-inch tube (greased) pan, then pour green batter over pink, then yellow over green batter.
- Bake 70 minutes in a 350u0b0 oven.
