Barbecued Beef Sandwiches
- 1 boneless beef brisket (2 1/2 lb.)
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1/3 c. ketchup
- 1/4 c. red wine vinegar
- 1/4 c. minced onion
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 bottle barbecue sauce (18 oz.)

- Place brisket in a large Dutch oven or soup kettle.
- Combine next 10 ingredients. Pour over brisket.
- Add water.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 4 1/2 to 5 hours, until meat is tender.
- Remove brisket and discard marinade.
- Shred meat. Return to Dutch oven.
- Add barbecue sauce and cook until heated through, stirring frequently.
- Spoon on hamburger buns.
- Yields 10 to 12 servings.
