Jam Cake
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. butter or Crisco
- 4 eggs (beat separately)
- 1 c. preserves (pear)
- 1 c. jam (blackberry)
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 4 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. spice
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1 c. raisins
- 1 c. nuts or desired amount
- 1 c. candied cherries or desired amount
- Cream sugar and butter or Crisco.
- Add eggs, preserves, jam, buttermilktnd
- vanilla.
- Sift
- together
- flour,
- soda, baking powder,
- spice, salt and cocoa.
- Add to flour mixture: raisins, nuts
- and candied cherries.
- Combine ingredients and bake
- at 275u0b0 until done.
- Line pan with waxed paper for easy removal.
