Orange Spice Rolls
- 1/2 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. ground pecans
- 1/4 c. round buttered cracker crumbs
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp. grated orange rind
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. orange juice
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- orange drizzle
- Combine first 6 ingredients in a medium bowl, stirring well. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons cracker crumb mixture in a greased 1 1/2-quart microwave-safe ring mold; set mold and remaining crumb mixture aside.
- Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl; cut in 1/4 cup butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
- Add orange juice and milk, stirring with a fork just until dry ingredients are moistened.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly 8 or 10 times.
