Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. packed light brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- In a large mixer bowl, cream the butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs; beat well.
- Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired.
- Spread batter in greased jelly-roll pan (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inches).
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 20 minutes.
- Cool completely.
- Cut into bars.
- Makes about 4 dozen bars.
