Classic Chocolate Layer Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Stir together cocoa and boiling water in small bowl until smooth; set aside.
  3. Cream margarine, sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Blend in eggs.
  5. Combine flour, soda and salt.
  6. Add alternately with sour milk to creamed mixture.
  7. Add reserved cocoa mixture.
  8. Blend thoroughly.
  9. Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 9-inch layer pans or one 9 x 13-inch pan.
  10. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
  11. Frost with your favorite frosting.
