Round Steak With Tangy Onion Sauce

  1. Brown onions in 1 tablespoon butter in large frying pan; remove with slotted spoon and reserve.
  2. Cut round steak into 6 serving size pieces; pound to 1/4-inch thick.
  3. Brown beef (1/2 at a time).
  4. Pour off drippings. Sprinkle salt and pepper over beef. Combine tomato sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce and cloves.
  5. Pour over beef.
  6. Cover tightly and cook slowly 1 hour.
  7. Add onions and continue cooking, covered, 1/2 hour or until beef is tender.
  8. Serve over noodles or rice.
  9. Makes 6 servings.
