John'S Apple Cake(From John Kram'S Bakery Back In 1930)

  1. In a bowl, combine well the apples and 1/4 cup of the sugar. Add the cinnamon.
  2. In a large bowl with an electric mixer, combine the oil and the 1 3/4 cups of sugar and beat for 2 minutes.
  3. Add eggs.
  4. In a bowl, sift the flour, baking powder and salt.
  5. Add the flour mixture to the oil and add orange juice and beat in the vanilla.
  6. Pour 1/3 of the batter into a buttered and floured 10-inch tube pan.
  7. Arrange 1/2 the apple mixture over it.
  8. Pour half the remaining apple mixture.
  9. Bake the cake on 350u0b0 for 50 minutes to an hour.
  10. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes.
