Old Fashioned Swiss Steak
- 1/2 Cup Flour
- 2 tsp. Salt
- 3/4 tsp. Pepper
- 1/2 tsp. Garlic Salt
- 2 lb. Round Steak - Cut in Serving Pieces
- 3 Tbsp. Cooking Oil
- 1 Garlic Clove - Minced
- 2 Cups Chopped Green Peppers
- 1 Cup Chopped Celery
- 1 Cup Chopped Onions
- 2 Cans (14-1/2 oz. each) diced Undrained Tomatoes
- 1 Cup Beef Broth
- 1 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
- 1/4 Cup Cold Water
- In a large plastic bag combine 1/2 Cup flour, 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. pepper and garlic salt.
- Add beef and toss to coat.
- Remove meat from bag and pound with mallet. heat oil in Dutch oven and brown steak.
- Add garlic, green pepper, celery and onion.
- Cook 10 minutes.
- Add tomatoes, broth, soy sauce and salt and pepper. Cover and bake at 325 for 2 hours.
- Remove from oven.
