Granola
- 8 c. rolled oats (not instant)
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 1/2 c. untoasted wheat germ
- 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts (walnuts or salted cashews)
- 3/4 c. shredded coconut
- 1 1/2 c. unprocessed oat bran
- 1/2 c. untoasted sesame seed
- 1/2 c. unsalted sunflower seeds
- 1/2 c. vegetable or safflower oil
- 3/4 c. honey
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. raisins
- Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
- Stir together the oats, sugar, wheat germ, nuts, coconut bran and seeds.
- In a small pan, heat the oil, honey and vanilla until bubbling.
- Thoroughly mix liquids with dry ingredients.
- Bake for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Stir until cool.
- Add raisins when cool.
- Makes about 15 cups.
