Sweet And Sour Pork
- 3/4 lb. pork, cut into pieces
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- cornstarch (for coating)
- 2 green onions, cut into 1-inch lengths
- 2 green peppers, cut into bite size pieces
- 4 slices pineapple, drained and cut into pieces
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 dried hot red pepper, cut into round slices (optional)
- 1 Tbsp. wine
- 2 tsp. cornstarch, dissolved in 4 tsp. water
- oil
- Sweet and Sour Sauce
- Dip pieces of pork in beaten egg and roll over cornstarch.
- Fry in oil over medium heat until light brown.
- Drain.
- Quickly saute garlic in 3 tablespoons oil, then add red peppers, green peppers, green onions, pineapple and pork.
- Stir well.
- Sprinkle with wine; stir in Sweet and Sour Sauce and bring to a boil.
- While boiling, add dissolved cornstarch and stir well until mixture is thick and clear.
