Apple Raisin Slowpokes
- Walnut Butter
- 2 cups toasted walnuts
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon walnut or hazelnut oil.
- Apple Raisin Slowpokes
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 1 recipe walnut butter
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 2 cups crispy rice cereal
- 2.5 ounces bag apple cinnamon chips (I used Seneca), crunched into smaller peices
- Place warm walnuts in food processor and mix until pureed. Add salt, honey, cinnamon and oil and puree some more. This yields slightly under one cup of nut butter. Set aside.
- Place a saucepan over medium heat and add both chocolate and butterscotch chips, along with walnut butter. Stir until melted and combined. Reduce heat.
- Stir in raisins, rice cereal and apple chip peices.
- After everything's mixed in, drop the mixture by tablespoonfuls onto a sheet of parchment paper and leave them to set up (if you want to speed the process up, you can always stick them in the fridge or freezer even).
- Keep in refridgerator as these tend to soften at warmer temps.
