Stuffed Red Cabbage Rolls

  1. Remove 8 to 10 leaves.
  2. Wash, then blanch for 3 minutes in salt water.
  3. Remove and pat dry.
  4. Melt the butter in a frying pan and render the fat from the bacon.
  5. Add bread cubes and onion.
  6. Fry until crisp and brown.
  7. Add the apple pieces, cream and red wine. Remove from stove.
  8. Let stand for 15 minutes.
  9. Add seasonings to taste.
  10. Place small amount of filling in leaves and roll them up. Roll a second leaf around each roll.
  11. Place the stuffed leaves closely together in a greased dish.
  12. Bake at 350u0b0 for about 30 minutes.
  13. Serve.
