Chili
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef or turkey
- 1 very large green pepper, cut into small pieces
- 2 very large white onions, cut into small pieces
- 1 qt. crushed tomatoes
- 1 can dark red kidney beans, drained and washed
- 1/4 tsp. dried crushed red pepper
- salt
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- Fry onions and green peppers separately in oil until soft. Add a little water and continue cooking 15 minutes.
- Fry turkey or beef in oil until red is gone.
- Add a little water and continue cooking for 15 minutes.
- Add tomatoes and kidney beans (prefer Raggedy Ann brand).
- Place tomatoes and kidney beans in a kettle; cook until hot.
- Add onions, green peppers and meat.
- Add red pepper and some salt.
- Add chili powder.
- Cook 1 hour.
- Add water, if needed.
