Bar-B-Que
- 3 to 4 lb. beef or venison
- 2 stalks celery with leaves, chopped
- 2 onions
- 1 large green pepper
- 1 large can tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. ground barbecue spices or 1 Tbsp. barbecue sauce
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 1/4 c. A.1. sauce
- 1 shake ground hot pepper
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Put meat in slow cooker around mid-morning.
- Cook slowly several hours, adding water if needed.
- Cook until meat starts to pull apart with fork.
- Drain off some of the liquid.
- In the meantime, saute celery, onions and green pepper in a little butter.
- Add remaining ingredients, mix well and simmer.
- Add more hot pepper or BBQ sauce to taste.
- Then shred meat and mix with sauce and simmer again for about 1 to 2 hours.
- Serve on hamburger buns.
