Coconut Cream Pie

  1. In saucepan, combine sugar, flour and salt.
  2. Gradually add milk, mixing well.
  3. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens and boils.
  4. Cook 2 minutes more.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir a small amount of hot mixture into egg yolks; immediately return to hot mixture in saucepan.
  6. Cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Add butter or margarine, vanilla and coconut.
  9. Pour into cooled pastry shell.
  10. Spread with meringue.
  11. Bake in 350u0b0
  12. oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
  13. Cool.
