Fudge Scotch Ring

  1. Line bottom of a 9-inch pie pan with a 12-inch square of aluminum foil.
  2. Place a custard cup in the center of pan.
  3. Place walnut halves around custard cup, forming a 2-inch wide ring; set aside.
  4. Combine chocolate and butterscotch morsels and sweetened condensed milk in the top of a double boiler; place over hot (not boiling) water.
  5. Stir until morsels have melted and mixture begins to thicken.
  6. Remove mixture from heat; stir in chopped walnuts and vanilla.
  7. Chill about 1 hour.
  8. Spoon chocolate-butterscotch mixture in mounds over walnut halves; remove custard cup.
  9. Decorate with candied cherries.
  10. Yield:
  11. One 8-inch ring.
