Great Grandma'S Orange Pour Cake
- 3/4 cup Softened butter (unsalted)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- pinch salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 ground orange, using a grinder attachment on a mixer would probably work, as would a food processor. I used a hand grinder the first time around and finely minced the zest and pith the second time. I do not recommend using a blender.
- 1 cup ground raisins, see above.
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- Cream butter and sugar then add the beaten eggs, ground orange and raisins.
- Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Add the milk to the butter, sugar mixture then the sifted flour mixture. Pour into a 9 by 13 inch pan and bake for 30 minutes.
