Mincemeat(Makes One 8-Inch Pie)

  1. Break meat up and cook slowly in a little oil.
  2. Do not brown. Put meat and apples in food processor and grind a bit.
  3. Return to pan.
  4. Add remaining ingredients. Bring slowly to a boil.
  5. Turn down heat.
  6. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
  7. Cool.
  8. Store in fridge for 2 or 3 days to age, if possible.
  9. Then place in 8-inch unbaked pie shell.
  10. Top with other crust, solid or cut in strips and crisscrossed.
  11. Add a little brandy to taste if you wish.
  12. Bake in a 425u0b0 oven for 10 minutes and lower heat to 350u0b0 for 30 minutes more.
