How To Bake A Bible Cake
- 16 Tbsp. Judges 5:25
- 2 c. Jeremiah 6:20
- 6 Isaiah 10:14
- 1 Tbsp. Matthew 3:4
- 1/2 c. 1 Kings 4:22 (whole grain)
- 3 tsp. 1 Kings 10:2 (equal parts cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves)
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 4 c. 1 Samuel 30:12 (use either or both)
- 1 c. Numbers 17:8, chopped
- 1 c. Genesis 24:20
- In a large bowl, beat the butter until creamy, gradually adding sugar.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating fully after each.
- Fold in, then beat in the honey; set aside.
- In another bowl, combine 3 1/4 cups of flour along with the spices and baking powder.
- Sift together.
- Toss the figs or raisins along with the almonds with the remaining flour.
- Add flour mixture in 2 steps as you alternate with the water.
- Stir in the floured nuts and fruit. Gently mix until smooth.
- Use 2 loaf pans.
- Bake at 325u0b0 for 75 minutes.
- Let cool on rack for 10 minutes.
