Gourmet Turkey Dressing
- 1 c. butter or oleo
- 2 c. chopped onions
- 2 c. chopped celery
- 8 to 12 oz. chopped fresh mushrooms
- 1 (1 1/2 lb.) loaf Roman Meal bread, toasted and torn in pieces
- 1 lb. ground chuck, browned and drained
- 2 well beaten eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. Lawry's seasoned salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 c. chicken broth
- 3 or 4 tsp. Durkee poultry seasoning
- Melt butter in skillet.
- Saute onions, celery and mushrooms. Pour over torn toasted bread.
- Add browned hamburger, eggs, seasonings and chicken broth.
- Mix together well.
- Stuff turkey or chicken or place in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake 1 to 1 1/2 hours at 350u0b0 until top is brown.
- Serves 12.
