Christmas Pie

  1. Thoroughly blend sugar, flour, gelatin and salt in a saucepan. Stir milk in gradually and cook over medium heat until mixture boils, stirring constantly.
  2. Boil for 1 minute.
  3. Place pan in cold water. Cool mixture until it mounds when dropped from the spoon. Blend in vanilla and almond flavorings.
  4. Whip the egg whites, cream of tartar and the 1/2 cup sugar.
  5. Whip the whipping cream until it mounds. Add coconut and then add the rest of the mixture. Pile into baked 9-inch pie shell and chill for several hours. Serve with crushed strawberries or raspberries.
