Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 c. softened butter
- 1/2 c. solid vegetable shortening
- 1 1/3 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. rolled oats
- 2 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
- 2 c. chopped walnuts
- In a large bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter, shortening and sugar on high speed until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes). Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.
- Beat in vanilla and lemon juice.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to butter mixture.
- Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
- Use a scant 1/4 cup of dough for each cookie.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 16 to 18 minutes.
