Festive Pancake Mix
- For the Pancake Mix
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- For the Recipe Card and Packaging
- 1 pretty notecard
- 4 cellophane baggies
- 2 feet of ribbon
- 1 small paper bag for gifting
- 1 small container maple syrup (optional)
- Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Whisk together well. Distribute about a cup of this mixture into each of four small cellophane bags. Tie them with a pretty ribbon.
- On a notecard, write the following instructions: "Combine 1 egg with 3/4 cup milk and 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Put the Pancake Mix into a bowl, then add the egg-milk-butter mixture, stirring to distribute. (Don't worry if there are lumps left!) Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto a griddle that is lightly greased. When the pancake bubbles, carefully flip it and cook for another few minutes until the second side is golden. Serve with maple syrup."
- Arrange the four packets and maple syrup if using in a festive paper bag, with tissue paper as desired. Tie the recipe card with ribbon to the handle.
