Turkey Or Chicken Dressing

  1. Mix can of chicken soup and a can of water with the stock in a large saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil slowly, stirring until well blended.
  3. Pour 2 cups over bread crumbs; stir well.
  4. Let soak until well blended and no lumps.
  5. Saute onions and celery in a small saucepan, using 1/4 cup of stock.
  6. (Do not brown or burn.) Cook until tender, but not done.
  7. Add to soaked bread crumbs.
  8. Add poultry seasoning, sage and pepper; mix well, adding additional stock to make a very loose dressing mix.
  9. Grease a deep casserole dish with the butter.
  10. Pour dressing in and bake in a preheated oven at 350u0b0 until done and brown on top and bottom.
  11. (The dressing can be stirred in the oven one time to assure even cooking by loosening up the sides that cook and brown fast.)
