Black Russian Brownies
- 4 sq. unsweetened chocolate (1 oz. each)
- 1 c. butter
- 3/4 tsp. black pepper
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/3 c. Kahlua
- 2 Tbsp. vodka
- 1 1/3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. chopped walnuts or toasted almonds
- Line a 13 x 9-inch pan with waxed paper.
- Melt chocolate and butter with pepper over low heat.
- Remove from heat.
- Combine eggs, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl, beating well.
- Stir in cooled chocolate mixture, Kahlua and vodka.
- Combine flour, salt and baking powder.
- Add to chocolate mixture.
- Stir until blended.
- Add nuts and spread into prepared pan.
- Bake in a 350u0b0 oven until toothpick or cake tester inserted into center comes out clean, approximately 25 minutes.
- Cool on wire rack.
- Cut into bars. Makes approximately 30 brownies.
