Hamburger Casserole *
- 1 lb. hamburger (2 lb. better)
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 2 cans (small) tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 clove garlic, crushed or 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 5 oz. pkg. broad noodles
- 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
- 1 container sour cream
- 6 small green onions, chopped or 1 medium onion, minced
- 1 c. sharp cheese, grated
- Brown meat in butter.
- Add salt, pepper, tomato sauce, sugar and garlic, simmering, covered for 20 minutes.
- Cook noodles until tender and drain under cold water.
- Allow cream cheese to soften and mix with sour cream, adding onions.
- Place ingredients in layers in casserole:
- 1/2 meat mixture, noodles, rest of the meat mixture, then cheese.
- Spread topping with grated cheese.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 20 minutes.
- Freezes well.
