The French Pirate
- 2 ounces dark rum
- 1 ounce Cointreau
- .75 ounces St. Germain
- juice one lime
- 1 teaspoon Falernum
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 Luxardo maraschino cherry
- 1 twist orange peel
- In liquid measuring cup or another vessel with a rim, combine rum, Cointreau, St. Germain, lime juice, and Falernum.
- Fill cocktail shaker with ice. The quality of the water in your ice really does matter. If you don't like the taste of your water straight from the tap, then you're probably not going to like the taste of it in your cocktail.
- Add the contents of the measuring cup to the full shaker and shake well for 30 seconds.
- Pour into your favorite glass.
- Add the 2 dashes of Angostura bitters on top and swirl with orange peel.
- Serve with maraschino cherry and orange peel as garnish.
