Hillbilli Chili
- 1 lb. hamburger meat (optional 1/2 lb. hamburger meat and 1/2 lb. cubed stew beef, 1/2-inch cubes)
- 1 lb. sausage
- 1 large onion, chopped (optional 1 large green pepper, chopped)
- 1 c. mushrooms, chopped
- 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (16 oz.) can light red kidney beans
- 1 (16 oz.) can dark red kidney beans
- 1 (16 oz.) can black beans
- 6 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 1 tsp. ground mustard
- 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1/2 tsp. herb seasoning
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 2 Tbsp. French's mustard
- 1/2 c. catsup
- 2 Tbsp. barbecue sauce (any style)
- 1/2 tsp. Texas Pete
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. brown sugar
- Brown the hamburger and sausage in a skillet; drain grease. Brown onion, mushrooms and green pepper in butter.
- Put all the ingredients into a large crock-pot and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, on high for 3 to 4 hours.
- Low is best!
- Stir every hour. Serve and enjoy!
