Caesar Salad
- 10 strips bacon
- 1/2 slightly stale baguette, cut into cubes
- pinch of salt, pepper, oregano, basil, mustard powder and thyme
- 2 medium size heads romaine lettuce
- 3 fresh garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. white vinegar
- 2 whole eggs
- 1 tsp. Dijon mustard
- 2 c. vegetable oil
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1/2 tsp. white pepper
- 6 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
- Fry the bacon until crisp.
- Pour the bacon fat into a bowl and add the bread cubes.
- Add the salt, pepper, oregano, basil, mustard and thyme and toss until the cubes are completely coated.
- Place the cubes on a cookie sheet and bake in a 350u0b0 oven until they are golden brown, stirring occasionally to ensure that they don't burn.
